Description: Platys come in all kinds of color variations and sizes. The are typically the one of the most popular fish for beginners and breed very fast in the right conditions. Females tend to be bigger than males.

They spend most of their time in the middle to top layer of the aquarium looking for food or just swimming in shoals. It is recommended to keep at least 5 of the same species together, as they are very communal.

Tank mates can include any other species, as they are often very friendly and keep to their own especially around feeding time. They are sometimes so friendly they are preyed upon by other more aggressive fish in the tank so make sure you are pairing with other friendly community fish.
