Introduction

Late last year in 2021 my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer after my grandma having passed. We were all shocked at the news but after extensive testing, good news finally provided us with some hope. It is not spreading and she is scheduled to have a mastectomy in late February of 2022.

I live in Oregon and Im originally from Texas so most of my family still lives there. It's about a 2,500 mile trip one way so I only get to visit once or twice a year. But this trip is different. I'll be taking care of my mom after her sugery and providing her with moral support, which she currently lacks. We are trying to stay positive overall, so this should be a fun and sentimental trip for me and my mom.
