The Tree of Life
In biological terms, the tree of life refers to a model that represents the evolutionary relationships between organisms first proposed by Charles Darwin in the Origin of Species. The tree-like diagrams have undergone several changes over the centuries as science is ever changing with new fossils and species discovered. Zoology and natural history really took off in the 1800s where scientist Ernst Haeckel went to further explain a phylogenetic system rooted from a common ancestor.
