Blade Runner is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time and will definitely make an appearance in my top 200 list. Not only is it dystopian, but retro 80s goth as fuck. A huge cult classic based off the book by Philip K. Dick called Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? While I have yet to read the book, I think the movie is absolute top notch. Harrison Ford in his prime. I swear I have seen this movie so many times I could quote it by heart, and speaking of, one of my favorite quotes of all time is quoted in this movie "the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long". Also fun fact, I share a birthday with replicant Leon in the beginning of the movie he asks when he was born and well the answer is in the movie ;) I actually went as far as to have a birthday in 2017 for Leon who's birthday it was that year. I highly recommend watching the directors cut of the film as it shows a bonus feature which I won't spoil here. The ending is also one of my favorite scenes of any movie as well with Rutger Hauer on his knees, "time to die".

Technically this film is body horror, but I though I'd add it to science fiction, mostly because the plot highly refers to a mad scientist who conducts and experiment gone wrong. From one of my top favorite directors, David Cronenberg, comes The Fly, a remake of the original movie from the 1950s, which I have not seen yet. His known knack for horror weirdness blended with a science fiction twist always gets me going. The movie also features on of my favorite actors, Jeff Goldblum, who plays the main character. He absolutely delivers as a mad scientist who transforms into a fly, which by the way gets absolutely gruesome to watch towards the end when his nails begin to fall off. I have a huge nail phobia so this part gets me every time. UGH. I only gave it a 4/5 stars because I typically don't care for Geena Davis as a actor and it does take a while to get going. But, nonetheless, this film is an absolute watch from the 80s!
