Species of Arachnida
Arachnida is one of the major arthropod groups that includes spiders, scorpions, ticks, mites etc. They are primarily characterlized by having segmented bodies that consists of a head, thorax and abdomen. They also possess jointed appendages, an exoskeleton, and an open circulatory system in which the blood is free-flowing within the body and not containined in vessels.
Almost all extant species are terrestrial and are mostly distinguished from insects by the fact that they do not possess antennae or wings. Arachnids are mostly carnivorous that feed on the pre-digested bodies of prey in which they can inject venom into.
